Does GLPN offer any course?
GLPN through its centers offers courses of different kind, and mostly we offer a couple of graduate and postgraduate courses in peace and sustainable development related matters. Therefore, we have also some informal short courses offered each year.
Is GLPN a sort of pan-African organization?
Absolutely not. GLPN-Foundation is a non-profit, non-political/non-partisan network based organization, without any involvement in politics and non-bias, and working for all, with a peaceful impacts worldwide.In other word, an international think-tank, which improves knowledge and skills to
all interested, from allover the world.
What are the qualifications of GLPN facilitators/trainers? :The team of our staff is a multi-variety of people with skills in different areas and deep experiences. Some of them are from civil society organizations, well-known professors at prestigious universities, international facilitators and trainers, researchers, human rights practitioners, and many others who fit exactly into the needs of humankind skills for a better future.
How long do training courses last?:It depends. Just check out through the web site and get informed about courses and lengths.
What about languages? :The courses are provided in English and or French.
Is it possible to become a member of GLPN? :It is absolutely easy and free to do so. GLPN-Foundation members are from all over the world (Africa-Europe-America-Asia-Australia-NZ…).
Is there any payment for volunteers? :Not at all! We do not pay for volunteers, but we do recognize the pivotal job they do with us. Unfortunately, our financial challenges do not allow us to pay for any volunteer based work. Nevertheless, after a joint assessment of individual needs, we offer the best facilities needed for the volunteer work based period. If interested, just take contact with us for some relevant information about the financial help from third party organization in connection with helping volunteers.
What kind of job opportunities available at GLPN? :This depends on availability of vacant posts, period, and individual qualifications flexibility, in accordance with our guidelines and projects. As our activities are based on “on-line & on field” works, doubtlessly there might be some opportunities, since we use to work with some trainers, facilitators, researchers, ICT experts, translators, and so on, it is advisable to keep an eye on our web site and get in touch with us.
Who are beneficiaries of your courses and their backgrounds? :Trainees, NGO,s, local communities, volunteers, researchers, students, etc…And they are from different backgrounds such as religious confessions, activists, government agents, artists, and many others.
Where does GLPN get financial support from?:GLPN-Foundation is a self-dependent network, and members’ contribution, partners, and fees from its production basically financially cover most of activities .
What about the scale/scope of activities?:GLPN-Foundation is based in the great lakes region of Africa, but there is no border limit to our activities. We are locally based, but we serve worldwide.
